In 2012, GSH formed a partnership with the Fort Smith Métis Council which is comprised of the indigenous Métis originally from the South Slave in the Northwest Territories. The Fort Resolution Métis Council, Hay River Métis Government Council, North Arm Métis Council of Yellowknife and the Fort Smith Métis Council politically represent the membership. GSH works closely with the Principles and Stakeholders of this partnership to ensure all helicopter services in terms of supporting logistics, staff and support are met to see successful helicopter operations carried out in the region to support customers in the area, specifically forest fire management, government transport and wildlife management.
